	NICE Promotion of breastfeeding initiation and duration - Evidence into Practice Briefing
	This document is intended to be used by those working in public health and community settings. It provides evidence-based information on interventions that work to promote the initiation and duration of breastfeeding. Based on a review of 210 studies and on a national consultation with over 800 health professionals, policy makers and service users, the document describes interventions that work, and gives information about strategies that will help in their implementation. Strategies that are likely to work with low-income groups, in areas where breastfeeding rates are lowest, have been examined as part of this work.
